UK postage stamps to honour Hamilton title

Nov.19 - Lewis Hamilton's world championship will be immortalised with a set of British postage stamps.

The Times newspaper reports that the UK's national postal service is planning to honour the 23-year-old's achievement with the stamps in the new year.

A Royal Mail spokesman would not confirm the news, but he admitted: "It is certainly an idea which is under consideration."

Earlier this year, Finland's postal service similarly honoured its 2007 world champion, Kimi Raikkonen, in the form of a commemorative stamp set.

Well I Certainly wont be buying any of these , When will people realise nobody likes him. And so where is the stamp for Nigel mansel , graham hill , stirling moss Ayrton senna etc , Racing drivers who actualy worked up from nothing to become a world champion.

Even more what about remebering Colin Mcrae and Richard Burns ...

What a Dumbass!!! I guess if they are honoring Hamilton is just because he made history, by being the youngest, and the first black to win an F1 Championship. Was Ayrton Senna British? Duh!

Oh god I hope no one buys them. Horrible...

Aye? what's wrong with Lewis Hamiltion? I'm from Australia and I don't follow F1 very much. However, from what I've seen on that interview on Top Gear, Lewis seems like a pretty ordinary guy. Chilled and laid back. And It's an amazing achievement for a 23 year old, the youngest F1 Champion (ever?).

He could use some driving lessons from micheal schumacher who is the greatest driver ever and holds more records then anyone else

I think this is the first... and the last time we see Lewis as a champion so better hurry with that post stamps...

to the mentally retarded souls above....

stirling moss was good, but never won the world championship. senna was a brazilian, so why would royal mail honour him? and it is odd to see that noone mentions jackie steward. Lewis is the best british driver in a decade, maybe 2, or possibly all time. some have to work at it, some are naturally gifted. i'll be buying them!

Could not agree more. Schumacher had critics too but you can't deny his talent. It's great to see Hamilton's talent and dedication being recognised.

The german micheal schumacher is better then lewis hamilton. Its just like fernando alonso a few years ago people will be scratching their heads next season saying what happened

for the simple minded person who opened his comment with "nobody likes him (lewis hamilton)" go and look back at footage of this years british GP at Silverstone. Good on lewis he deserves all the credit he's worked hard for years for his time in the spotlight. i hope he carries on the good work next season.
